Barrington is a civil parish in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England. According to the 2001 and 2011 censuses it had a population of 209. The parish includes the villages of Great Barrington and Little Barrington, on either side of the River Windrush. To the east the parish borders Oxfordshire. ==Famous people== The following people are connected with Great and Little Barrington: * The Venerable Edmond Francis Crosse, the first Archdeacon of Chesterfield, is buried in the church yard in Little Barrington. *Thomas Wharton, 1st Marquess of Wharton, created a scandal in 1682 when, during a drunken rampage, he desecrated the church at Great Barrington; although he became a leading figure in Government, he was never allowed to forget the episode.
